Top Trending 2022

Robotic process automation (RPA) is one of the most common methods for increasing operational efficiencies through tactical automation, and it continues to evolve at a rapid pace. You can use this list to compare the main enterprise software suppliers and determine which one is best suited to your business's requirements.

Strategy Planning Assumption (s)
> For example, by 2023, most major RPA providers will offer a platform that integrates screen scraping with APIs.
> Voice, mobile apps, and other user-experience-driven automation will be the norm by the year 2023.

Market Definition
It is the market for licenced software platforms used to write scripts to integrate any application via a user interface and a control dashboard or orchestrator that market classifies as the robotic process automation (RPA) industry." Automating repetitive, rule-based, and predictable processes is a primary goal of RPA platforms. User interface (UI) interactions and application programming interfaces (APIs) are used to link various enterprise programmes, such as ERP, client/server systems, mainframes and other applications.

By imitating the transaction stages normally performed by people, RPA automates repeated human tasks, mainly through staged UI interactions. An RPA software script, typically referred to as a "robot" or "bot," is used to follow a human procedure, and runtime is allocated to the script by a control dashboard or orchestrator. Bots can be created by hand-coding or by leveraging RPA's inbuilt low-code/no-code GUIs.

RPA software tools must, at the very least:
> Make it easier for the public to create automation scripts.
> Use UI scraping to integrate with enterprise software.
> Configuration, monitoring, and security are all part of your orchestration and administrative capabilities.

Some RPA platforms also include advanced features like:
> Processing of documents with artificial intelligence
> Library with drag-and-drop models for Auto ML and Natural Language Processing
> Exploration and mining of processes

Additional upcoming features and capabilities of RPA platforms include:
> APIs that can be used in conjunction with UI scrapers.
> UX for building bot UI front ends with low-code.
> Orchestration of automated workflows without the use of a central server or "headless bots"

Incumbent vendors are jostling for position and improving their solutions in the RPA industry, which is expanding rapidly. We anticipate a maturation and consolidation of this market by the year 2024. As suppliers in adjacent markets begin to offer RPA capabilities, the market is still highly fragmented.

Every year, RPA software suppliers lift the bar in terms of their viability, relevance, growth, revenue, innovation, and vision. Our inclusion and evaluation criteria are updated annually to reflect the changing nature of the market. Many vendors could see their positions move as a result of this (and the exclusion of some that appeared in previous editions). This list focuses on RPA software suppliers, not service providers who leverage RPA capabilities licenced from another vendor.
